Good gut health is key to a healthy life. The gut can be a good indicator of how overall health is going. It can reveal if the body has any digestive issues or food sensitivities. You can't think about gut health without thinking of the microbiome, which is all the bacteria in our intestines that help break down food and produce vitamins and enzymes for us to absorb. To have a healthy gut, there are some foods that you should eat more to improve to have more beneficial gut bacteria.
Fermented Foods: The best sources of fermented foods are sauerkraut, kimchi, and pickles. Like any other food, the fermentation process breaks down the food's nutrients. This process includes breaking down carbohydrates until they are simple sugars that feed the beneficial bacteria in your gut.
Bone Broth: is an excellent source of calcium and magnesium; these two minerals are essential for supporting intestinal health and decreasing inflammation in the glycemic index tract.
Green Vegetables: are a great way to improve your gut health. They are a good source of Vitamin K, Vitamin A, and folate, all three of which our guts need to function.
Low Carb Diets: Eating too many carbs may cause inflammation in the gut due to the bacteria. Eating low carbs will decrease the amount of exposure you receive through carbs.
Including these foods in your diet will for sure improve your gut health.
