It’s one thing to set a goal, i.e. to make $x this month, to find the perfect house to live in, to become more fit, to find an ideal partner. This is certainly beneficial, however, identifying the specifics is how you really find and achieve what you’re looking for.
Maybe you’ve heard people talk about manifesting - attracting what you want into your reality through thoughts, feelings, and beliefs. To attract exactly what you want into your life, it’s important to have a specific idea of what it looks like.
For example, say your goal is to find the perfect first house to buy. So, you envision this house, identify the qualities you truly want in it, and imagine what it feels like to live there. Imagine your mornings waking up in the house and how you spend your evenings there, feeling the emotions of what it’s like to really be there.
Then, you go to tour tons of homes. When you first step foot into the house that’s perfect for you, you immediately know it’s the one without question, and you put an offer on it the second you leave. You know it’s the right place because it fit the exact vision and feelings you had imagined. Without envisioning this place, it likely would have been a lot more difficult to immediately know it was ‘the one’ and maybe you would have let it pass you by.
Moral of the story - don’t only set a goal, but get clear on the thoughts, feelings, and beliefs associated with the outcome. Most importantly, trust the process and let go of exactly how getting to the goal looks. Let things fall into place themselves, but keep an eye on what achieving it will look and feel like.
