Beauty regimens can be expensive, but they don’t have to be. Do it yourself face and body washes and scrubs are just as good, if not better than the store bought stuff. (And they smell amazing!) Read on for some amazing recipes that you can make from things in your pantry!
1.) Honey Sugar Scrub
½ Cup Honey
½ Cup Sugar
Mix your honey and sugar and blend. Honey has natural antibacterial properties that reduce redness and swelling, and the sugar exfoliates all those pesky dead skin cells.
2.) Ginger Coconut Scrub
1/4 cup coconut oil,
1 tablespoon coarsely chopped ginger
1/4 cup jojoba oil (cold pressed)
3/4 cup granulated sugar
1/4 cup salt
1-4 drops essential oil of your choice
Ginger is amazing for sensitive skin and the salt and sugar will scrub away the old skin to expose the fresh, energized skin underneath, giving you a healthy glow!
3.) Coffee Scrub
1/4 cup almond oil
1/4 cup granulated sugar
1/4 cup of ground coffee
4-6 drops lavender essential oil
Coffee is great to drink, but it also helps around the house, too. You can put coffee grounds in the garden for a vegetation boost, or add it into a face scrub for an aromatic morning pick me up. And, lavender is a natural disinfectant and anti-inflammatory so your acne can kiss your face bye-bye!
4.) Aloe and Green Tea Scrub
1/3 C. Coconut Oil
1/4 C. Sugar
1 Tbsp. Aloe Vera
2 Green Tea Bags
3 drops Vitamin E Oil
5 drops Tea Tree Essential Oil
Aloe. Green Tea. Need we say more? When you’re mixing this up, be sure to open the tea bags and dump everything into the scrub. Your face and skin will thank you!
5.) All About That Base - Scrub
½ Cup Sugar
½ Cup Baking Soda
½ Cup of Coconut Oil
This is a basic scrub you can use on its own or doctor it up to however you want it. Add fruit, add essential oils, it’s up to you! Go crazy!
